The story of this rug

Türkiye still hand-knots rugs, on a far smaller scale than it once did, and this is one of them: a Sultan Series piece, 174 × 242 cm (5'9" × 7'11"), cream with gold and a greenish tone, Oushak flower drawing, a wool pile with silk in the motifs, knotted densely. A single piece from a finished run. Cream is the lighter of the two grounds this series was woven in, and it changes what the gold does — on beige the gold is warm, on cream it is bright.

01The Wool on the surface

The flower forms are classical and evenly spaced, neither crowded nor sparse, and the green appears only in small quantities, in the leaves and in a few of the outlines, where it stops the gold from taking over. The wool ground is deliberately matte so that the silk in the pattern has something to be brighter than.

02Where it is laid

That is the construction the series was built on, and it is why the rug looks like two different rugs in a room with morning light and a room with lamps. Knot density is high, which is what a fine floral drawing needs to survive being woven. The Sultan Series is out of production and will not return.

Professional washing, and no substitutes. Hand-knotted in Türkiye; wool pile with silk in the motifs. Cream ground with gold flower drawing and green in the leaves and outlines. Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
