Tencel yarn

Lyocell takes up moisture quickly and releases it quickly, which is why it feels cool to the hand. It does not give the warmth wool gives.

Modern pattern. Because the pattern comes from inside the weave, it can be followed from the back as well. Built on a gray, taupe ground.

The story of this rug

Mink is the trade's name for a warm gray-brown sitting between taupe and beige, and it is the whole of this rug's color. Mink Plain Loom-Woven Rug from the Taftan series: no pattern, a moiré surface that shifts with the light, a Tencel® face, woven in Kütahya in twelve sizes, up to 300 × 390 cm (9'10" × 12'10"). From across a room it looks flat.

01What the yarn is

Close up, fine waves run through it where the yarns lie in different directions, and those waves are the only design there is. Stand at one end and the surface is bright; cross to the other and it goes matt and darker.

02Knot by knot, by hand

Nothing is printed or woven in to produce that — it is the pile against the light, and it is the reason a plain rug is worth looking at at all. The loom sets the structure and hands do the rest, in Kütahya, where this series is made.

03From ground to pile

Tencel® gives the face a silk-like softness and its shine. It sheds and dusts very little. Larger dimensions can be woven to order for projects. Loom-woven in Kütahya, Türkiye. Tencel® surface. Plain mink, with a moiré that changes with the angle of the light. Low shedding and easy to keep. Twelve sizes, 80 × 140 cm (2'7" × 4'7") to 300 × 390 cm (9'10" × 12'10"); larger dimensions to order. Professional washing. This is the rug for a room that is otherwise finished and has only the floor left in it.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
