Lyocell takes its light from the flat cross-section of the fiber, not from a treatment applied afterward. It stays after a professional cleaning.

The story of this rug

The blue is the point. A soft, unsaturated blue holds the entire field of this Blue Scandinavian Geometric Loom-Woven Rug from the Zara series, with Scandinavian-modern figures drawn across it, a Tencel® and viscose face carried on cotton, from looms in Oushak. Ten sizes, the smallest 80 × 140 cm (2'7" × 4'7"). It is a blue with no green and no violet in it, which is why it sits beside warm colors — orange, red — as easily as beside cool ones.

01A line from the archive

The geometry is spare: straight-sided figures, plenty of ground left empty, nothing that would read as ornament. That restraint makes it a floor for a minimal room rather than a feature in a busy one, and it is why the design has stayed in the range for years. These are old-pattern looms, and the only operation they perform is the knotting; every other step on this rug was done by hand in Oushak, the fringes worked one at a time.

02Coming off the loom

Cotton runs through the foundation with Tencel® and viscose at the face. Loom-woven on old-pattern looms in Oushak, Türkiye. Tencel® and viscose surface on a cotton foundation. Nobody will comment on it, which in a small room is usually the whole job of a floor.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
