The beige is light enough that daylight passing over it spreads rather than pools, and the motifs surface gently instead of standing out — this is a rug that does not perform.

Along the frame, thin branches and leaves run in a continuous line and finish the composition without adding weight to it. Beige moves into cream and then into brown across the field in natural steps, the kind of gradual shift that comes from wool dyed in separate lots.
