Tencel yarn

Lyocell takes up moisture quickly and releases it quickly, which is why it feels cool to the hand. It does not give the warmth wool gives.

Authentic motif

Authentic pattern. Because the pattern comes from inside the weave, it can be followed from the back as well. Built on a burgundy, red, navy blue ground.

The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

The story of this rug

Navy against burgundy, and very little else: the Burgundy Yağcıbedir-Pattern Loom-Woven Rug from the Nostalji series takes the characteristic drawing of the Yağcıbedir rugs of western Anatolia and works it in Tencel® over a cotton foundation.

01After the color

Six sizes, ending at 240 × 340 cm (7'10" × 11'2"). Yağcıbedir weaving is known for exactly this pairing — deep navy in the field with red or burgundy holding the borders — and for a drawing that is angular rather than curved, because the original was knotted and not painted. The version here keeps that geometry and adds gold in small amounts, which lifts the two dark colors apart. Against light furniture it is a hard, clean contrast; beside gray and anthracite it goes sober and formal. A loom lays the ground, and the fringes are the part no machine touches: they are tied one at a time by women in Oushak.

02What Tencel does

The surface is Tencel® and the foundation is cotton, which is what gives the pile its shine and the rug its stability. It is not a hand-knotted Yağcıbedir and is not offered as one.

03At the loom in in Anatolia

The pattern is the inheritance here, not the construction. Loom-woven in Türkiye, in the Yağcıbedir pattern of western Anatolia. Tencel® surface on a cotton foundation. Deep navy and burgundy with small gold accents. Fringes tied by hand, individually, in Oushak. Six sizes, 90 × 150 cm (2'11" × 4'11") to 240 × 340 cm (7'10" × 11'2"). The pattern is traditional; the construction is not hand-knotting. Professional washing. It belongs in a room with books and one good lamp, and the angular drawing is what will still hold the eye there in ten years.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
