The story of this rug

Yellow rugs are hard to find, which is the whole reason for this one. A plain rug in 100% viscose, 160 × 230 cm (5'3" × 7'7"), loom-woven in Türkiye, weighing 2,700 g/m² and standing 8 mm deep in the pile.

01What the yarn is

No pattern: the surface and its shine are the whole design. Viscose is spun from cellulose, and each strand sends light back along its own length. Stand at one end of the room and the yellow is bright and almost lit from inside; cross to the other end and it settles into something flatter and deeper.

02The mark of slow weaving

Nothing has been stamped on or woven through to produce that. It is only the pile lying one way. The tone is warm rather than acid, which is what lets it sit in a bedroom or a study without taking the room over. The weaving is done on a loom in Türkiye, domestic production from yarn to finish.

03The air of the room

At 2,700 g/m² the structure is dense enough to feel when a corner comes off the floor, and 8 mm of pile puts it midway between flat and deep — soft to stand on, and shallow enough that a door still swings over it. The shine has a cost: the pile takes footmarks and holds them until it is brushed out.

04What Wool does

If that sounds like something you would notice every day, a matt wool or cotton pile is the better answer, and it is better to hear it now. Daily care is a vacuum; a deep clean is professional work.

Brighter from one direction, matt from the other, with no dye difference involved. 06The rule of care

Vacuum regularly and leave deep cleaning to a washer. Made to order in other sizes and colors. Yellow is a decision rather than a neutral, and a plain field is the least demanding way to make it.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
