01Color that shifts through the day

Halıcızade holds only a small number of this design, and this is one of them. Blue and beige are interleaved rather than separated, so no part of the field is entirely one or the other, and the classical drawing underneath surfaces in some places and disappears in others. That unevenness is what produces the aged effect, and it is drawn in, not achieved by wear.

02How it feels underfoot

In a bedroom the blue reads cool and recessive; under warm lamps it turns gray-green, which is closer to how genuinely old rugs behave than most reproductions manage. Traditional looms in India, cotton and viscose, and a build much lighter than a classical rug of the same footprint. Both fibers come from plants, and the pile they make is soft to a bare foot without being deep.

03What it sits well with

The house is direct about where it should not go: not the kitchen, where a shallow pile and cooking traffic are a poor match. Everywhere else it does the job, and its weight makes it easy to lift when it needs cleaning.
