Lyocell surface

Tencel is a brand name; the fiber itself is called lyocell and is made from wood cellulose. It gives the surface a shine close to silk.

Classic pattern

Classic pattern; the motif is built from the yarn itself, not from dye. It does not rub away as the surface wears. The ground reads blue.

Türkiye production

This rug is made in Türkiye. Writing the place of production onto the spec sheet also makes clear where the price comes from.

The story of this rug

Two diameters are woven, one 160 cm across and one 200 cm, which is 5'3" and 6'7", and the drawing is set out from the middle so that the circle is the composition rather than a crop of one. Blue Vintage-Pattern Loom-Woven Tencel Round Rug, Zade Series: Tencel® over cotton, made in Kütahya, blue and beige with one thread of red. Everything radiates.

01Color, by the light

Rings of ornament widen from the middle toward the border, worn back to a soft edge in the way an old rug wears, and the beige ground carries the blue without the two ever meeting at a hard line. The red is the smallest quantity of color in the rug and it does the most work: it takes the chill out of the blue and keeps the whole thing from reading as cold.

02Knot by knot, by hand

A tree of life is drawn into the border frame, and that is how the house signs a design it had made for itself. Kütahya works it on the loom, and afterward each rug goes round the local houses, where women plait the fringes by hand.

03From ground to pile

Tencel® over a cotton foundation gives a surface that is quiet to walk on and shifts between shine and matt as the lighting changes through the day. It sheds very little pile or dust. Cleaning is a workshop job — a round rug dried badly will never sit flat again. Loom-woven in Kütahya: the frame does the structure, people do the finish. Tencel® surface on a cotton foundation. Blue and beige with fine red detail, drawn radiating from the center. The tree of life in the border frame is the Halıcızade mark. Fringes plaited by hand in houses around the mill. Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
