The story of this rug

It comes in two large sizes: 274 × 366 cm (9'0" × 12'0"), about 10 square meters (108 square feet), and 305 × 427 cm (10'0" × 14'0"), about 13 square meters (140 square feet). Either one takes a whole seating group, sofa, armchairs and table, onto the rug. The design is abstract: on a mink and beige ground, glossy cream areas drift like clouds, and small raised rectangles cover the surface.

01The origin of the pattern

The relief comes from differences in pile height; up close it reads like worn plaster or an old woven cloth. Abstract rug design leaves the surface to shifts of color and texture instead of a repeating motif; here pile height does the work of the pattern.

02What the yarn is

Aren is a series woven to Halıcızade's order. Made in India in wool and viscose. Viscose reflects more light than wool; in the photographs the cream areas are glossy and the mink ground stays matte. A surface this large and quiet works as the floor of the room and leaves pattern to the furniture.

03Color that shifts through the day

On light oak the mink warms; on dark stone or an anthracite floor the rug reads paler. A beige linen sofa, a travertine table and a bronze lamp stay in the same family; for contrast, add a chair with black steel legs or a dark walnut console. There is no border and no fringe; the raised texture runs unbroken to the edge, and the edges finish straight.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
