02Highlights

Four things that set this rug apart

01

Wool surface

On the surface: Wool, Natural, Viscose. The shine of the rug, its weight and what its care asks all follow from that choice.

02

Modern pattern

Modern pattern. The motif is not printed on the surface; it is built as the rug is woven. The ground is taupe, beige.

03

India weave

This rug is woven in India and carries the weaving tradition of that region. The place of production is stated openly on the spec sheet.

04

Professional cleaning

Cleaning method: Professional cleaning. Blot a spill with a dry cloth instead of rubbing it; rubbing spreads the stain and mats the pile.

Mink Abstract Hand-Knotted Wool and Viscose Rug, Aren Series — product specifications

The nature of handwork: Every woven rug is made one at a time, so sizes and color tones can vary by up to 3%. Small irregularities where the yarns cross are not faults; they are the signature of the weave.

The story of this rug

Aren, in the series name, is a word for the single brightest grain of sand in a desert, and it turns out to describe the color: Mink Abstract Hand-Knotted Wool and Viscose Rug, Aren Series — a wool and viscose pile with gold and amber drifting through light mink, made in two sizes, 168 × 244 cm (5'6" × 8'0") and 201 × 301 cm (6'7" × 9'11"). There is no motif to find.

01Color that shifts through the day

What the surface has instead is movement — warm gold and amber scattered across the mink like light over dunes, with occasional cool gray-blue accents cutting the warmth so that it never turns yellow. The rug changes hour by hour: pale and level in morning light, gold and considerably more emphatic after five.

02Coming off the loom

Beside cream linen and woven baskets it reads warm. On white walls with nothing else in the room the transitions are the only thing to look at, and they hold. It is knotted by hand over months at a high knot count, and density is why the pile stands upright and why the rug will keep its shape rather than spread at the corners.

03What Wool does

Wool carries the warmth. Viscose is blended in for the sheen, and the sheen shows most in the pale passages, where there is least color to compete with it. Each Aren piece is made in small numbers, so finding a second one like it years from now is not a realistic plan.

04The rule of care

Day to day it wants a vacuum and a wipe; a deep clean is a job for a professional washer and nobody else. Hand-knotted pile of wool with viscose blended through it. Light mink ground with gold, amber and cool gray-blue accents. A high knot count, which is why the pile stands up instead of leaning after a few years. Two sizes: 168 × 244 cm and 201 × 301 cm. Aren is the brightest grain of sand in a desert; the name was chosen for the tone. Made in small numbers rather than in a standing range. Wipe and vacuum for daily care; professional washing for anything deeper. What does the name Aren mean? Aren is the brightest grain of sand that can be found in a desert.

05The tone of the ground

The series was named for it, and this piece carries the tone the name describes: a light mink ground with gold and amber running across it. Why is viscose blended into the wool? Viscose reflects light in a way wool does not.

06From ground to pile

Blended into a wool pile it puts a silk-like sheen on the surface, most visible in the pale passages, while the wool keeps the warmth and the body. The two fibers are doing different jobs. It is the rug that will look different at breakfast and at dinner, and that is the entire reason it was drawn without a pattern.

07

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

08

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

09

Frequently asked

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?
