The story of this rug

At 135 × 200 cm (4'5" × 6'7") the piece belongs beside a hearth or beneath a low table rather than under a whole seating group: a cream kilim with nothing drawn on it, loom-woven in Türkiye, its wool carried on a cotton warp.

01A question of size

Two and seven-tenths square meters. One piece. Cream is the hardest ground to photograph and the easiest to place. It takes the color temperature of whatever light is in the room and hands it straight back — warm under a filament bulb, faintly blue under a north window, close to white at midday.

02Coming off the loom

Because nothing is drawn on it, the weave itself becomes the pattern: the ridge of each weft pass runs across the width, and at a low angle in raking light you can count them. Made on a Turkish loom. The plain statement about a cream flatweave is that it shows what lands on it.

03Up close to the pattern

There is no pile to swallow a crumb and no figure to disguise a mark, and a small pale rug at this size usually ends up somewhere with traffic. If the intended spot is a hallway or a kitchen door, choose something else and come back to this one for the sitting room.

04Color, by the light

Washing goes to a specialist, not to a machine. Loom-woven in Türkiye; wool and cotton, flatwoven with no pile. An undecorated cream ground — the weft ridges are the only texture. 135 × 200 cm (4'5" × 6'7"), 2.7 square meters. Cream picks up the color temperature of the room's light. At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.
