01From the hand of the weaver

New Zealand wool and viscose over cotton, woven on a loom in the Oushak region of western Türkiye and finished by hand. The pattern is drawn as though it had already aged. Edges blur where a border would normally end, the medallion bleeds into the field, and the greens sit a step or two below full strength, so from standing height you get a soft rhythm rather than a set of shapes. Look down and the shapes are all there. That deliberate softness is why the rug can enter a modern room without turning it into a period one — it keeps the memory of a classical rug drawing while dropping the insistence. Loom-woven means the frame of the rug is set by machine and everything after that is closed by hand, and in the Oushak workshops the hand work is women's work, edge by edge and fringe by fringe.

02The Wool on the surface

The pile is New Zealand wool with viscose worked into the motifs for a low sheen, over a cotton foundation. It is a low pile, which leaves dust nowhere much to go and makes six square meters something you can vacuum in one pass.

03The origin of the pattern

The series runs in small numbers, so patterns come and go. Between washes a vacuum is enough; the wash itself is not a home job. Loom-woven in western Türkiye, in the workshops around Uşak; the finishing is hand work. New Zealand wool pile with viscose in the motifs, on a cotton foundation. Faded green over a milky cream ground; soft-edged border and medallion. Low pile — easy underfoot, and quick to run a vacuum across. 200 × 300 cm (6'7" × 9'10"), which is a full living-room size. Made in limited runs; each piece differs a little from the last. Professional washing. It is the floor for a room that wants to feel settled by the second week rather than the second year.
