The story of this rug

A plain rug has nowhere to hide anything, and that is the first thing to know about this one. Green Plain Loom-Woven Wool Rug, Heritage series — New Zealand fleece on the surface, cotton underneath, made on the looms around Oushak in Türkiye, in a warm green close to moss.

01Color, by the light

One size only, 130 × 190 cm. Without a pattern, everything depends on the color, and this green is pitched low and warm — nearer a herb garden than an emerald, with enough yellow in it to stay friendly under artificial light. On a plain surface the pile itself becomes the design: the direction it lies decides whether the green looks light or dark, so the rug appears to change as the sun moves across it and again when you walk around it.

02Knot by knot, by hand

In a child's room or a small bedroom it reads as calm; in a hallway it reads as deliberate. Loom-woven here means the weaving begins with machine power in workshops around Uşak and is finished by women working by hand.

03From ground to pile

New Zealand fleece is used on the surface for its length and evenness, and the foundation under it is cotton. The pile is low and closely set, so it clears a door, vacuums quickly and gives dust little to settle into.

04Coming off the loom

Washing should be professional. Loom-woven in the Oushak region of Türkiye, machine-started and hand-finished. New Zealand wool surface on a cotton foundation. A warm moss green — low in saturation, with yellow in it. One size, 130 × 190 cm (4'3" × 6'3"). Low, close pile: clears a door and vacuums fast. A plain surface shows marks that a patterned one would hide. Professional washing. Green floors used to be a mistake people made; this is the tone that came out the other side of that.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
