The small size is a doorway rug and the large one is a sitting-room rug, and they are not the same purchase.

The knot count is high and every row is hand-tied. Cotton is the foundation, the pile is a cotton-and-wool blend, and bamboo viscose appears nowhere except in the pattern, which is why the figures come up bright at one angle and vanish at another. One practical note: a dark brown pile shows lint and pale hair the way a dark coat does, so it wants a vacuum more often than it wants washing. When it does want washing, that is a workshop's job.
