Lyocell surface

Tencel is a brand name; the fiber itself is called lyocell and is made from wood cellulose. It gives the surface a shine close to silk.

Classic pattern

Classic pattern; the motif is built from the yarn itself, not from dye. It does not rub away as the surface wears. The ground reads burgundy, red.

Türkiye production

This rug is made in Türkiye. Writing the place of production onto the spec sheet also makes clear where the price comes from.

Cleaning method: Professional cleaning. Turning the rug a hundred and eighty degrees once a year spreads the load of sunlight and foot traffic evenly across the surface.

The story of this rug

Red the way velvet is red, spreading rather than glaring: a Zade piece, its Tencel® and cotton laid down on the loom, with a traditional medallion at the middle, flowers ranked around it, and the house tree-of-life standing in the border.

01Choosing the size

It is made in several sizes. Colors that look faded in shade come back up when daylight reaches them. The medallion holds the middle and the floral repeat circles it at an even interval, so the field has a pulse to it rather than a grid.

02Up close to the pattern

In the border the tree-of-life stands in for the usual running vine — a house motif, and the reason this frame does not look like any other classical border. The reds are laid in several close values instead of one flat tone, which is why the surface seems to have aged before it arrived.

03Knot by knot, by hand

Under a bulb it goes deep and warm; near a window the lighter reds separate out and the flowers come forward. Workshops around Oushak run these off on looms, and the finished pieces then travel to nearby households, where the fringe knotting is done by hand and one knot at a time.

04What the yarn is

Tencel® and cotton together give a surface that is cool and slightly silky rather than woolly, and the pile is kept short — less depth for dust to work into and a straightforward vacuum. The Zade designs came out of an idea inside the house: make something with patterns and colors nobody else was putting on a floor.

05The mark of slow weaving

Send it to a wash house when it needs more than a vacuum. Loom-woven in the Oushak region; fringes hand-knotted in the villages afterwards. Tencel® with cotton; not a thread of wool in the surface. Central medallion with a floral repeat, and the house tree-of-life worked into the border. Several close values of red rather than one flat color. Short pile — smooth underfoot and easy to vacuum. Available in more than one size. Professional washing for anything beyond routine cleaning. This is what a room gets when it wants a classical floor without the classical lecture.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
