The lyocell fiber is straight and smooth and breaks light by direction, the way silk does. The same rug reads in two colors from two sides.

The story of this rug

Tencel® decides how this rug behaves: a plant-based cellulosic filament, cool to the touch and reflective in a way wool never is. Zade Series Multicolor Geometric Loom-Woven Rug — Tencel® and cotton, 200 × 300 cm (6'7" × 9'10"), woven on looms in the Oushak region of Türkiye, its geometric field changing color with the light. The geometry is broken up rather than regimented — blocks and bars in reds, burgundy and a scatter of cooler tones, none of them holding a straight run long enough to become a stripe.

01From ground to pile

Because Tencel® reflects, the same block reads saturated from one end of the room and washed-out from the other, and walking across it sets the whole surface moving. There is no wool in it at all, which is worth knowing if you have been sold on wool as the only serious fiber: this is a different proposition, cooler underfoot and brighter in color than wool will go. The structure is laid down on a loom and the rug is then sent out into the villages around Oushak, where the women who live there finish each fringe by hand, knot after knot.

02Coming off the loom

That division — machine for the ground, hand for the ends — is what loom-weaving means, and Halıcızade does not describe these as hand-knotted. The pile is low, which leaves dust little to work down into, and a vacuum lifts it off easily. Professional washing is still the right call for anything deeper than routine cleaning. 03From the hand of the weaver

In a rug it produces a smooth, cool, light-reflecting surface with stronger color than wool takes, but it has none of wool's natural spring, so the pile sits lower and flatter. Is a loom-woven rug the same as a hand-knotted one? No. A loom-woven rug has its structure built on a mechanical loom, with the finishing and the fringes done by hand. A hand-knotted rug is tied knot by knot by a weaver.

04Color, by the light

The house states the difference rather than blurring it. Put it in a room of gray and oak and nothing else in there will have an opinion.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
