Lyocell weave

The lyocell fiber is straight and smooth and breaks light by direction, the way silk does. The same rug reads in two colors from two sides.

Traditional pattern

Traditional, Tribal pattern; the motif edges sit on the order of the warp, so they come out sharp. The ground is terracotta, orange.

The story of this rug

Terracotta Floral Loom-Woven Tencel Rug, Zade Series — a terracotta ground carrying a central medallion, with flowering branches arranged around it and a tree of life reading up through the field.

01Knot by knot, by hand

It is woven on a loom in Türkiye in Tencel® over cotton. There is no wool in it at all. The medallion sits at the center and everything else organizes itself around that: flower heads on curving stems, the tree rising through the middle of the field, and a border that repeats the smaller of the two flower motifs.

02Color that shifts through the day

Terracotta is the ground for all of it, a fired-clay orange that deepens and browns under a warm bulb and stays clean and bright in daylight. Beside oak and rush it is the obvious pairing. Beside gray stone it does the more interesting thing and makes the stone look colder than it is. Halıcızade is direct about how the Zade rugs are made: this is not fully hand-woven work — it is a method that puts machine and hand labor together, and the house prefers to say so rather than borrow a word it has not earned.

03Coming off the loom

Loom-woven means the loom lays down the structure and the finishing happens afterward in the hand. Tencel® is lyocell — a filament made out of wood pulp — cool against the hand and reflective enough that the terracotta shifts as you walk past it, and cotton runs through the body underneath. A Tencel® face is not a wool one — it marks more readily, and washing it is a job for a rug workshop rather than a bathroom. Loom-woven in Türkiye, with the loom carrying the structure and hands closing the ends. Tencel® face over a cotton body; no wool anywhere in the rug. A central medallion with flowering branches, and a tree of life through the field. Terracotta, which reads deeper by lamplight and cleaner by day. The house states plainly that Zade is not fully hand-woven. Tencel® marks more easily than wool does. Professional washing. Two pieces at this size. A room can have the classical drawing without the weight that normally arrives with it, and this is one way to get there.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Recommended: 170×240 · 200×290 · 240×340

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Recommended: 80×290 · 90×390 · 90×490

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Small differences in tone are possible depending on your screen. Open the images full screen to study the surface, and watch the review video where there is one. If you want to be sure, you can see the rug in person at our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
