The story of this rug

Tencel® is the whole reason this one works: a cellulose fiber spun from wood pulp, laid over a cotton foundation, holding cream, silver, mink and white in a soft abstract drift that comes out looking like a slab straight from a marble quarry.

01Knot by knot, by hand

It is a loom-woven piece from the Zima series, made in Kütahya and Uşak. There are no lines in it. The four tones move through one another with nothing to mark where one ends, and because Tencel® reflects light along the fiber rather than off the surface, the paler passages lift and the mink passages sink depending on where the light comes from.

02Color that shifts through the day

Standing at one end of a room the field is almost white; from the other it is a warm stone gray. That is a property of the fiber and not a trick of the photograph, and it is why a light rug like this does not go flat in a room without much sun. Weaving is done on Kütahya and Uşak looms — machine knots laid at close to hand-knotting density, then finished by hand.

03How it feels underfoot

The cotton foundation is what keeps the rectangle square. A pale rug of this kind wants a household that takes shoes off, and that is the honest condition attached to it. Have it washed by a rug workshop rather than a laundry. Loom-woven in Kütahya and Uşak: Tencel® over a cotton foundation. Cream, silver, mink and white drifting together with no drawn edges. The surface reads almost white from one side and warm stone-gray from the other. Sizes vary by piece. Pale and light-toned: best in a house where shoes come off at the door. Professional washing. It is the closest a woven floor gets to being a piece of stone, without the cold.

Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
