The story of this rug

Green holds most of the length of this prayer rug and a russet band closes the top of it, the two meeting without an outline anywhere between them. Tencel® and cotton, loom-woven in Anatolia, and 80 × 130 cm (2'7" × 4'3") overall, marked once where the forehead comes to rest. Abstract here means the colors move rather than the shapes: no motif, no arch drawn in outline, only a soft transition from one tone to the next that gives the eye nothing to catch on.

That is the point of the design — during prayer, a surface with less movement in it is a surface that takes less attention. The russet at the head end warms the green and keeps a cool color from going cold. Tencel® comes off wood pulp and lies smooth against skin, which matters on a rug that the forehead and the palms touch.

The loom is Anatolian, the finishing is done by hand, and the result carries the familiar look of a hand-woven piece with the evenness of a woven one. Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
