01Color, by the light

Turquoise is difficult on a large floor because it goes green in daylight and blue after dark, and the yellow is what holds it together in both states: it stays warm through the whole day and gives the eye somewhere to land.

02Knot by knot, by hand

At three meters this is a rug you place a room around, not one you slide under a table. Loom-woven, in the sense the house uses the word: the structure is set on a semi-industrial loom in Uşak and the finishing is hand work, with the knots set close enough to give the surface the density of a handwoven piece.

The pile is viscose, spun from cellulose, and it is where all the shine comes from; the foundation carrying it is cotton. Two things follow from a viscose pile that are worth knowing before buying. It takes footmarks, which brush out.
