Tencel yarn

Lyocell takes up moisture quickly and releases it quickly, which is why it feels cool to the hand. It does not give the warmth wool gives.

Modern pattern. Because the pattern comes from inside the weave, it can be followed from the back as well. Built on a green ground.

This rug is woven in Türkiye. It comes straight from the workshop with no reseller layer; the place on the spec sheet and the place it was woven are the same.

The story of this rug

The name is the design. Baş Başa describes a person alone with themselves, with their spirit and with their Creator, and this prayer rug is built to leave nothing else in the frame: green run through with cream and blue in horizontal bands, a single mark where the forehead comes down, 80 × 130 cm (2'7" × 4'3") of Tencel® yarn loom-woven in Anatolia. Horizontal is the useful direction here.

01The tone of the ground

The bands run across the rug rather than along it, so the eye travels the short way and stops, and the cream keeps the green from massing. Blue enters only in thin passages and is easy to miss until the light is low.

02From ground to pile

Nothing on the surface is drawn in outline. Made from natural yarns with Tencel® in them, which is where the softness comes from — the contact against skin is close to silk rather than to wool, and there is no scratch anywhere on it.

03Coming off the loom

Anatolian looms give it a character borrowed from hand-woven rugs without pretending to be one. It stands up to daily use, and with professional cleaning and unhurried handling it stays the rug it was on the first day. Loom-woven in Anatolia, in the manner of a hand-woven piece. Tencel®-containing natural yarn, silk-like against the skin. Green with cream and blue in horizontal bands, and no outlined motif. Which size fits your room?

The most common mistake in choosing a rug is buying too small. Here are the numbers, room by room:

Living room

At least the front legs of the sofas should sit on the rug. Leave 20–40 cm of floor showing around it.

Recommended: 200×290 · 240×340 · 300×380

Dining room

It should extend 60–75 cm beyond every edge of the table, so chairs do not catch when pulled back.

Recommended: 200×290 · 250×250 · 240×340

Bedroom

Either cover the lower two-thirds of the bed, or choose a size that extends 60–90 cm on three sides.

Hallway · runner

Choose one 25–30 cm shorter than the hallway, leaving 10–15 cm of floor on each side.

Care — three rules

Vacuum regularly

Use a head without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Once a week is enough; dust is lifted before it settles between the yarns.

Treat spills before they dry

Blot, do not rub. Dampen with a suitable cleaner and dry.

Leave washing to a professional

Household machines are not suitable for woven rugs. One professional wash a year is recommended.

Which size should I choose for a living room?

At least the front legs of your sofas should sit on the rug. For a standard living room 200 × 290 cm is recommended; for wide rooms 240 × 340 cm or 300 × 380 cm. The scale plan on this page shows how much of a 520 × 420 cm room each size covers.

How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

For international orders, shipping, duties and taxes are calculated at checkout and paid in advance; there is no cash on delivery. Rugs in stock leave Ankara within 1–3 business days.

Can I return it if I do not like it?

Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery, no questions asked. On international orders return shipping is paid by the buyer.

Will the color match what I see on screen?

Can the rug be used over underfloor heating?

It depends on the pile height. Low-pile woven rugs work with underfloor heating and do not block the heat. If you are unsure, send the product code to Client Services on WhatsApp.

How does the price change between sizes?

Pricing is by the square meter. The price per square meter is shown next to the price, and it updates as you select a size.

Can I see the rug in Ankara?

Yes. At our showroom in Çankaya, Ankara you can see the rugs in this series and touch the weave. No appointment is needed.

Can I ask for a size that is not listed?

Custom sizes can be woven in many series. Send your measurements on WhatsApp and we will come back with a production time and a price.
