Green Plain Loom-Woven Viscose Rug

01From ground to pile

Deep forest green, no pattern, and a surface that changes with the angle you look from. Cellulose from plants is what viscose is spun out of, and that is why it handles light the way silk does.

02After the color

From one side of a room the green is bright and almost wet; from the other it drops into a matt, dark version of itself, and the same rug reads as two colors in one afternoon. That is the entire design.

03From the hand of the weaver

A plain floor can be richer than a patterned one when the fiber is doing the work, and this is the rug people stand on and ask how something flat can look like that. Loom-woven in India: the loom sets the body, and the finishing is closed by hand.

04Color, by the light

At 12 mm the pile is thick and full without being shaggy, and 4,500 g/m² puts real weight under a foot — you feel the density before you notice the color. Bedrooms are what it was made for, particularly for the first step of the morning, and it goes into children's rooms and living rooms on the same argument. The sheen does mean footmarks, and they stay until the pile is brushed back; if that would irritate you, choose a matt rug instead.
